Scholarship Applicants

Q: When are the scholarship applications available?
A: October 15.

Q: When are the scholarship applications due?

Q: Can students who reside in Anne Arundel County but attend school in another county apply for a scholarship?
A: No.

Q: Can students who attend school in Anne Arundel County but reside in another county apply for a scholarship?
A: No.

Q: Can students who are home-schooled apply for a scholarship?
A: Yes, if the student resides in Anne Arundel County.

Q: How many scholarships can an applicant apply to?
A: At most two scholarships.

Q: Can the application be submitted before the transcript is uploaded and letters of recommendation are attached?
A: Yes. The transcript upload and letters of recommendation deadlines are the week after the student deadline.  See Key Dates for specific deadlines.

Q: The recommender did not receive the request to write and submit a letter of recommendation.  What should I do?
A: If it is before the student deadline, you can access your application to resend the request.  If it is after the student deadline but before the letters of recommendation deadline, please contact us and we will forward another request to the recommender.

Q: When are the scholarship awards announced?
A: An email communication is sent to all applicants the first week of April.

Q: Will the scholarship awards be sent directly to the colleges?
A: Yes, checks are mailed directly to the colleges by July 1.

Q:  When I finish my application and click “SUBMIT,” an “INCOMPLETE” message follows.  Why?
A: The transcripts and possibly also the letters of recommendation have not yet been submitted as they are not due until the week after the student deadline.  If the status of the application is “Pending,” no further action is required.  When the transcripts and letters of recommendation have been received, the application status will change from “Pending” to “Submitted.”
